big mac

Here's my $64 question...

How come...

...each of us had his/her P100 Big Mac meal during our national convention costing thousands of pesos
...a top OWWA officer hinted to one of our scholar officer to propose an island hopping spree when a similar convention is to be held among NCR scholars

How come...

...when our stipend for June had arrived lately, seven weeks longer than expected, explaining the "oh-no-not-again" excuse, - "walang budget!"...

How come!

Close Encounter

Lance (from Region 5): Hello!!!

Jonas (replied to mailing list):Laugh out loud.... Pero tama si Yasser... [scrap the second reason]

Jonas (to himself): Bakit kasi walang 'd' sa close...

June 10 na!

We are all required to attend the Migrant Workers' Day on June 10, 2005. This is a half-day event which will start from 9am and end at 1:00 pm. Come in a "presentable" attire. No attendance. No allowance. Lunch and Snacks are served.

Afterwards, Scholars' Day Out till you drop... Bring some bucks for our gimmick...

FAQ

2. Ito ba ang Day out natin na pinaghahandaan ni Jonas?
Iba ang Day Out natin sa Migrant Worker's Day.

May team-building and bonding activities din.

4. Manunumbalik ba ang Sinag Seeds, Kabaro, Alam Na, Astig at Happy?
Why not! Hehehe.

5. All expense paid ba ito?

6. Big Mac ulit?
Pwede ring Yellow Cab, hahaha.

7. Eh ang sa Day out?

8. Ano ang dadalhin?
Negatives ng conference. Pasalubong mula sa province. At iba pang gift sa amin.

Reply kau kina aubrey at jonas.

never be the same again

Like I was drunk, I had a hangover. Like a music kept on playing on my soul, I was trapped in a syndrome. It is similar to a spell casted on me. I miss all of you, guys.

Right after our first rendezvous, Chow and I flew homewards. We were feeling the same. Everything around us reminded someone among us. The memories of Ciudad came back. Happiness and youthfulness were in the air. Right now, I'm missing all of you.

Perhaps, I'm playing words much to describe my feelings. Can't help...

I have the following symptoms of my syndrome...
  • What would Kitchie think everytime her latest single was aired I am imagining Paolo is with her?
  • Of course, I am also imagining lightning and thunder be "called" when 'Wherever You Will Go' is sung in a videoke?
  • I'll be testing videoke if I would get the same 100 - You're a Perfect Artist score when I am to sing 'I'll Never Go'.
  • Chokoleit is out. Ali (Alejandro) is in.
  • 'Kelangan pa bang i-memorize yan?' is out. 'Alam na' is in.
  • I will look at a steno notebook and a black mailman bag the different way now. Sob. Sob.
  • I'll be shouting 'Where's the keyholder?' when I would be trapped inside the CR.
  • I'll be wishing that I have the same crowd when 9 Cards (Ito ba? O ito? Ituro mo!) will seek other's attention.
  • Or when I'll go malling, at outfit stalls, I will say: 'Mossimo and Penshoppe have it but Bench doesn't', while at dining, I will say: 'Jollibee and Kenny Roger's have it but McDonald's doesn't'.
  • But even McDonald's doesn't have it. I wish I had a hundred bucks to buy an Upsize Big Mac Meal.
  • I am more likely to ride a bus around UP than IKOT or TOKI.
  • When watching TV Ads, I'll wish that I had sung its jingle in one of our activities.
  • When I'm to check-in a residence inn, I'll make sure that I'll be having my own bed.
  • We are watching 'kapamilya'. But I'll be missing some people begging to switch to 'Darna'. Although, it is an eewww...
  • I'm having a fear of elections. I won't suggest anymore.
  • N.C.R. is now J.O.Y.

At higit sa lahat... makakasanayan kong matawag bilang 'Kuya'.

Paolo's Punchlines

Without Pao, the trip would never be funnier. We had a comedy bar-on-the-go. During our first night, all of us experienced to be ridiculed on how we look, on how we said things, on how we talked to him... on how we do things... and sorry to say... even on how we don't do a thing. Still, we laugh to ourselves, and to him more than anyone else.

Here's a quite list of his/her laughlines he spilled during our bonding sessions.
  • Hinihingi ko ba ang opinyon mo? Feeling mo close tayo?
  • Stand, Aubrey! Sabi ko tayo ka eh.
  • Oi, ang galing-galing mo kanina... Ano nga ba ginawa mo? Kasi tumayo ka lang, nagpalakpakan na.
  • Nasaan na yung mamahalin mong hairdress?
  • Hanggang dito lang yung usapan.
  • Sige ikaw na dito.
  • 'Ba yan!
  • Ang kati ko!
  • Ito ang mga first choices ko.
  • I respectfully nominate myself.
  • Anong gusto ninyong langoy?

blog

hello, fellow scholars!

since all of us wanted this kind of virtual connection, i decided to have an online portal for our n.c.r. group. in this way, we can keep each other updated. we don't have a site yet so i took advantage of this blog.

after our memorable three-day event, all are in anticipation of the next reunion. in worst case, we can have our bonding together sessions after a year due to discrepancies in our academic year schedules and some of us are graduating and will be more studious *cough cough* to finish our short-term goal.

but, i believe that this blog can do something to cross those barriers. treat this blog as our chat room. compared to the limited number of characters in SMS, our blog can even reach more scholars since all of us surf the net at least once a month. more than a chat room, it is a talk-and-listen venue. it is a story sharing kinda bonding session we did during the ciudad christia nights.

plus! we can also post our pictures here!

each of us shall received an invitation to join Yahoo! Groups OWWA NCR Scholars * and an invitation to be a contributor to our blog. Our alternative link is http://alamna.tk.

in line with our group and blog's name 'Alam Na!', i haven't thought of any catchy and more-than-the-usual League of the OWWA NCR blah blah thing... so i become biased here since it was the name of the most popular group in the conference. To the other groups, 'Gudlak!'. Anyways, if you have any contentions, just post it here.

posting is simple. you can post your story or update or any inspirational message once you become a blogspot blogger. you can tag also on our board. just key-in your name there. we encourage you also to comment and to reply with each other's posts.

there are also links to other personal blogs. feel free to visit and to shout.

what's the difference of having a separate blog from an online group? in our Y! group, we can upload files (pictures and documents) and create tables in our database* there. we can announce and forward messages there. but since it will be sent to us in our email, the tendency is that we'll skip them reading and the replies are cluttered in our inbox. in our blog, at least, posts are kept organized.

anyways, they are only one click away to each other. so there will be no problem if have two homes.

just always keep each other updated.

* If you don't receive any, you can click the link, and join immediately. I'll be approving your request. I'll be restricting our group not because we don't welcome people from other regions but we might talk of something considered very confidential or personal. Hihihi.

* One of the tables is our profiles.
